New Shady Rest Campground Overview
New Shady Rest Campground is located in the Inyo National Forest in the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains. The campground is located a short walk to the community of Mammoth Lakes. The area is a popular destination to ski, fish, hike, bike, photograph and enjoy the spectacular scenery and wildlife of the Sierras. The town of Mammoth Lakes offers a variety of things to do including shopping, golfing, special events and other activities. There are also many fine restaurants in town. New Shady Rest Campground has 97 single-family (mixed-used) campsites located at an elevation of 7,800 feet in the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains. Campsite numbers start at #68 and go through #165. The campground is set in a beautiful and mature pine forest. The campsites are large and spread out and each have a food storage locker, table, fire ring and grill.
