Devils Postpile National Monument is a unique geological formation of columnar basalt towering 60 feet high over looking the Middle Fork of the San Joaquin River.  The campground is a great base to explore the formation, fish the river and/or hike the mail trails in the area.  Rainbow Falls is just one of the popular hiking trails and there are several others including many that lead to the back-country.  The campground has 21 first-come, first-serve sites all of which have a food locker, table, fire ring and grill.  Trailers/RVs over 30 fet in length are not advisable.
